The Builder Journey
Formation happens in stages, not in modules
Every Builder moves through experiences that ask them to explore, make, reflect and show their work. A mentor observes what actually happened, and that observation becomes evidence of development — not a score.
Three stages
Six levels
A Builder's level is set by age band on joining and only moves through an official progression decision: a mentor reads the whole developmental record, judges readiness, recommends, and the programme approves. Historic work and evidence are never overwritten. Levels 1–4 have published journeys today; Levels 5–6 are being authored.

Seven Learning Domains
Each Learning Domain is described on a five-state developmental scale — Emerging, Developing, Applying, Strong, Extending. A Builder is never reduced to a percentage.
Character
Curiosity
Creativity
Collaboration
Responsibility
Resilience
Leadership
The developmental scale
Where a Builder sits in a domain is judged on recency, consistency across experiences, and the quality of mentor observation — never by averaging marks.
Stage 1
Emerging
Beginning to show the behaviour with support.
Stage 2
Developing
Showing the behaviour more often, still uneven.
Stage 3
Applying
Applies the behaviour independently in familiar situations.
Stage 4
Strong
Consistent and confident across different situations.
Stage 5
Extending
Extends the behaviour to new situations and supports others.
